Established in 1827, the Charity has a long and rich history. It has evolved over time, but its core tenet remains to provide critical support to members of the trade who face adversity, poverty or sickness.
The work of the Charity is nationwide. Our role is unique in supporting both current and retired employees or their spouses, from every sector of the trade including manufacturers, wholesalers and retailers.
The Charity today is governed by our Council of Trustees who are elected by their peers and typically have significant experience and a long or notable service within the trade.
