On July 5th, the Goldsmiths’ Centre was abuzz with excitement as the achievements of the foundation students were celebrated in a memorable event. A highlight of the evening was the presentation of the very first Silversmiths & Jewellers Charity Ian Morton Award, an accolade established to honour the remarkable talent of the students and the legacy of Ian Morton, who dedicated over 30 years to the charity, including 18 years as Chairman. The award presentation was particularly special, as Ian Morton’s daughters, Nicki and Clare, had the honour of presenting the award, commemorating their father’s extensive contribution to the charity.
Antony Vanderpump, current Chairman, and Jule Griffin, Charity Manager, were tasked with selecting a single outstanding student for the award. However, the exceptional quality of work and the impressive display of talent made this a challenging decision. After much deliberation, it was decided that, for the inaugural year, the award would be shared by two exemplary students.
We are thrilled to announce the winners of the Ian Morton Award 2024 are…
- Isabella Balfour-Bernard for Creativity & Flair
- Krishnan Vara for Dedication & Execution
The Silversmiths & Jewellers Charity extends its warmest congratulations to all the students. Your incredible talent and dedication has truly impressed us, and you should be immensely proud of your achievements.
